> Documentation for oddk — install, first instance, snapshots and recovery, notifications, and tuning.

**oddk** gives a single Linux host the ergonomics of a managed Postgres service:
instances with resource limits, whole-deployment snapshots, offsite copies in S3,
health alerts, and disaster recovery that works when the daemon itself is down.

## Requirements

- **Linux** (x86_64 or arm64)
- **Docker**, running
- **systemd**, for the installed service

oddk runs *on the host*, not inside a container — it is the control plane that
manages Docker, not a workload that Docker manages.
